To plan and deliver classes focused exclusively on the development of specific social skills, and entrust professionals to conduct such meetings. Self-directed courses allow for a more comprehensive implementation of the principles and minimise the risk of inadequately prepared people leading the development of social skills. They also make it possible to provide additional support to those students who require more targeted guidance on particular social competences, including selected micro-competences for specific student groups with specific needs. Self-directed courses work well in situations where some academics are unwilling to engage in shaping the social competences of learners, or are not content-equipped to do so. However, the model carries the risk of student attitudes varying according to perceptions of their own skills and the specifics of their chosen field of study and time opportunities.
